Additional support and comprehensive bereavement services are available for the families of hospice patients, as well as community members, following the loss of a loved one. This may include home visits by staff and / or volunteers, mailings and phone calls. Bereavement support is available for up to 13 months after the loss.
Grief Support
Talking is the most important facet of grief work. We are here for you as you share your thoughts and feelings … until healing begins to come. Sharing with others, or sometimes just listening, can help us accept our pain and the wide range of other feelings that normally accompany a loss. It is normal to feel relief, guilt, anger, regret, and a variety of other feelings. Our Grief support group meets once a month in our office and at different locations in our communities as we continue to support our families through this journey. Please call us for more information about our next meeting dates.
Journaling
We encourage our families to keep a journal as part of the grieving process.
Grief is a process with no timetable. God made each of us very unique. At Peace Hospice, we have no timetable for your grief; we promise to be there for you as long as you need us.
